Is the casting material safe for my baby's skin?
Absolutely. Our baby hand casting kits are designed with the utmost care, using hypoallergenic and non-toxic materials that are safe for even the most delicate skin. They meet stringent safety standards to ensure a gentle experience for your baby. Please note: Although we cannot make a 100% guarantee against reactions, there are no known reports of an allergic reaction to the material. If your baby does have particularly sensitive skin we recommend doing a patch test prior to casting.
How long does it take to set the cast, and do I need to hold my baby's hand still during this time?
The casting process is quick and captures the imprint in just a couple of minutes (5 minutes). However, you'll need to keep your baby's hand still briefly while the material sets. We recommend doing this when your baby is content or sleeping to make it easier.
What if my my baby wiggles or moves during the molding process?
As long as the hand remains submerged within and completely covered by the molding material during the setting process, the hand can be allowed to wiggle slightly within the material without affecting the final mold. Remaining steady for the final 5-10 seconds is ideal.
What's the best age to use the hand casting kit for my baby?
You can use our hand casting kits for babies as young as newborns through to toddlerhood. Remember, every stage of your baby's growth is special, and our kits can capture all of those moments. So really it’s up to you to decide which stage of your baby’s development you would love to capture!
